| Description | Sealed bids will be received by the Board of Education, Woodstock School District 200 on April 20th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. prevailing time for 2010 Summer Life Safety Improvements at Dean Street Elementary, Clay Academy, Verda Dierzen Early Learning Center and Olson Elementary.
Lump Sum Bid and Unit Price Proposals will be received at the scheduled time of receipt of bids and will be publicly opened at that time for Bid Release #3. The Trade Packages included are:
Trade Package 1a: Moving Fixtures and Furniture at Verda Dierzen, Clay, Dean and
Olson Schools
Trade Package 4a: Masonry & Masonry Restoration
Trade Package 6a: General Trades

Bidders who receive plans from services such as Dodge or Reed must contact IHC Construction Companies to get proper bid forms and addenda. All plans must be returned to IHC Construction Companies (1500 Executive Drive, Elgin, IL 60123) in good condition.

Questions regarding the bid should be addressed in writing via email to IHC Construction Companies, LLC; Attn: Brian Lemmon blemmon@ihcconstruction.com, or via fax # 847-742-6610. Questions submitted less than one week prior to the bid opening cannot be considered.
A Pre-Bid Conference will be held on April, 7th 2010 at 3:00 p.m. for all Trade Packages, at Clay Academy located at: 112 Grove Street, Woodstock, IL. 60098. For Trade Package 1a Moving, this is a mandatory walk through. Bids will not be accepted if mandatory walk through is not attended. All other bidders are encouraged to attend this meeting, which will be attended by the Owner, Construction Manager and Architect. Walk through of Clay Academy, Olson Elementary, Verda Dierzen and Dean Street Elementary will be available after pre-bid conference.
Bid security, in the form of a bid bond, certified check or cash in an amount equal to 10 percent
of the base bid amount shall be submitted with the bid for all Trade Packages. Should a bid bond be submitted, the bid bond shall be payable to the Board of Education, Woodstock Community Unit School District 200.
Bids shall be submitted on or before the specified closing time in an opaque sealed envelope addressed to: Woodstock Community Unit School District 200, Attn: Risa Hanson, Chief Financial Officer, 227 West Judd Street, Woodstock, IL., 60098. Envelopes should be clearly marked, “Sealed Bid”. The bids will be opened at Clay Academy 112 Grove Street, Woodstock, IL 60098 and read aloud at approximately 2:15pm.
The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids or parts thereof, or waive any irregularities or informalities, and to make the award in the best interest of the District.
All bidders must comply with applicable Illinois Law requiring the payment of prevailing wages by all Contractors working on public works. Bidders must comply with the Illinois Statutory requirements regarding labor, including Equal Employment Opportunity Laws.
The successful bidders will be required to furnish insurance equal to or greater than the specified amounts and conditions. The cost of the insurance will be included in each bidder’s proposal.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and payment bond to the owner equal to 100% of the proposal amount. The cost of the performance and payment bond will be included in bidder’s proposal.
