Construction of a portion of the $730 million, 12.5 mile extension of I-355 between I-55 and I-80.

• Construction of a new mainline Open Road Tolling (ORT) Plaza for Plaza 99 at M.P. 3.25, North of Bruce Road and South of 167^th Street, including:
  • Three ORT lanes and three cash lanes in each direction
  • New control and annex buildings with walkway
  • New Illinois State Police Sub Station
  • Overhead toll collection structure, toll booths, loop detectors and I-PASS equipment
  • Pavement markings
• Construction of Ramp Toll Collection plazas at eight locations; two at 127^th Street, two at IL Route 171, two at IL Route 7 and two at US Route 6, each consisting of one I-PASS lane and one cash lane.
• Construction of maintenance facility at mainline Open Road Tolling Plaza.
• Installation of four overhead dynamic message signs providing instantaneous travel info.
• Installation of a video surveillance system and "real time" traffic monitoring system for the entire 12.5 mile Tollway extension.
